KOH PHANGAN, Thailand – A 37-year-old Nigerian drug dealer, identified as Ugowma J. (surname withheld), was arrested on March 1, 2025, in a sting operation conducted by tourist police on Koh Phangan. The suspect was reportedly supplying cocaine to foreign tourists across the island and other popular destinations, including Phuket and Krabi.
Police launched an investigation after receiving intelligence reports about a Black foreign national selling drugs to tourists. Surveillance efforts confirmed Ugowma’s activities, leading officers to set up a controlled buy near Pantip Plaza Market in Surat Thani Province.
During the operation, undercover officers met Ugowma at the agreed location. Once he handed over the drugs, police immediately identified themselves and placed him under arrest.

25.71 grams of cocaine (valued at 240,000 baht / $7,000)

Authorities revealed that Ugowma was a major cocaine supplier in Koh Phangan, selling 1-gram packages for 6,000 baht ($175) each and offering delivery services to other provinces for an additional fee.
The suspect now faces serious charges, including:
Possession of a Category 2 narcotic with intent to sell
Illegal distribution of narcotics without permission
He has been transferred to Koh Phangan Police Station for further legal proceedings as the investigation continues.
