Three individuals have been arrested and charged following a drug bust during a traffic stop in Keith County, Nebraska, according to the Nebraska State Patrol (NSP).
Nicholas Toscano, 29, of Herriman, Utah, and Vidal Fregoso-Tolentino, 30, of Victorville, California, face eight counts of possession of a controlled substance and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia. Chanchan Nguyen, 23, of Chula Vista, California, is charged with ten counts of possession of a controlled substance, one count of possession of drug paraphernalia, and one count of speeding.
The arrests took place on September 24, when an NSP trooper stopped a white car driven by Nguyen on Interstate 80 near mile marker 123, three miles west of the Ogallala exit, for speeding at 80 MPH in a 65 MPH construction zone.
The trooper smelled marijuana during the stop, prompting a search of the vehicle. Officers discovered psilocybin mushrooms, LSD, MDMA, cocaine, and marijuana inside the car.
Nguyen, Toscano, and Fregoso-Tolentino were arrested and booked into the Keith County Jail. Their bonds have been set at $150,000, with 10% required for release. Toscano and Fregoso-Tolentino are set for arraignment on October 15, while Nguyen will appear in court on October 28.
