Nicholas Hayes Arrested for 2022 Murder of Richard Crowder in Exeter

Tulare County, CA — Nicholas Hayes, 24, was arrested on Friday in connection with the 2022 murder of 65-year-old Richard Crowder in Exeter.

On May 30, 2022, around 1:30 AM, deputies were called to a home on Spruce and Alfred Streets in Exeter after reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, they found Crowder dead from a gunshot wound.

During the investigation, Tulare County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) detectives identified Hayes as the suspect. After securing an arrest warrant, they found Hayes at a home on Florence Avenue near Riggin Avenue in Goshen.

Hayes has been booked into the TCSO Pre-Trial Facility and faces murder charges in connection with Crowder’s death. The investigation remains ongoing.
