NFL Player Ben Cleveland Charged with DUI in Georgia

Ben Cleveland, an NFL player for the Baltimore Ravens, was charged with driving under the influence (DUI) after being pulled over in Georgia last Wednesday. Cleveland, a former University of Georgia player, was stopped by a sheriff’s deputy near Milledgeville when his black pickup truck was observed weaving in and out of its lane and veering off the roadway at one point.

The deputy’s report noted that Cleveland’s vehicle then crossed into the opposite lane and nearly ran into a ditch. After being stopped, Cleveland admitted to consuming three to four beers at a local country club but stated that he had not drunk in the last two hours.

Upon agreeing to a blood alcohol test, Cleveland registered a BAC of 0.178, which exceeds Georgia’s legal limit. As a result, Cleveland was charged with DUI and failure to maintain his lane.

Jail records did not list an attorney representing Cleveland, and the Ravens organization has not yet responded to requests for comment.
