New York Woman Arrested in Multi-State Fraud Case

LONDON, Ky. (WKYT) – A New York woman, 47-year-old Roberta Padgett, has been arrested as part of a multi-state fraud investigation involving charges in nine states, including Kentucky.

According to the London Police Department, Padgett used a forged passport belonging to an active bank member to withdraw $1,200 from the Community Trust Bank. Following an investigation, local authorities, in collaboration with the Lagrange Police Department, located and arrested her.

The investigation is ongoing, and Padgett faces charges including criminal possession of a forged instrument and theft by deception. She is currently being held at the Oldham County Detention Center.
