“Nevada Drug Trafficker Sentenced to Life in Prison After Arrest”

Kerry Williams, a convicted drug trafficker, has been sentenced to life in prison following his arrest with five pounds of methamphetamine and 12 ounces of heroin. Williams will be eligible for parole after serving 18 years of his sentence, according to the Washoe County District Attorney’s Office.

The case against Williams began in August 2022, when the Regional Narcotics Unit (RNU) of the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office was conducting an operation at a local casino. Casino security reported suspicious activity involving Williams, who had been staying at the casino for over a month. Based on the high volume of traffic in and out of his hotel room, they suspected he was involved in drug trafficking.

RNU detectives intercepted Williams after he left his hotel room with multiple bags, got into a taxi, and departed the casino. A deputy pulled over the taxi, and a K9 unit conducted a free-air sniff that alerted to narcotics. A subsequent search of Williams uncovered almost four grams of methamphetamine on his person, as well as the large quantities of meth and heroin in his bags.

Williams’ arrest and the subsequent charges led to his conviction and life sentence, marking a significant success for local law enforcement in their fight against drug trafficking in the Reno area.
