NCB Arrests Sri Lankan National in Rs27 Crore Methamphetamine Seizure

The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has arrested two individuals, including a Sri Lankan national, for possessing a large quantity of drugs. A total of 2.7 kg of methamphetamine worth Rs27 crore was seized, along with Rs15 lakh in cash.

On October 22, acting on reliable intelligence, NCB officers from the Chennai Zone intercepted two suspects—identified as Vijaykumar and Manivannan—near Moolakadai Bus Stand. During the operation, the authorities recovered 1.8 kg of methamphetamine from the duo. Further investigation led to the arrest of the Sri Lankan national, who was involved in the drug trafficking network.

The total drug haul, along with the cash, indicates the scale of the illicit operation being dismantled by the NCB. The arrested individuals are currently under investigation as the probe continues.
