NCB Arrests Gautam Mondal in Major Codeine Syrup Trafficking Case

The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in Kolkata has successfully arrested an international drug trafficker, Gautam Mondal, in connection with a major seizure of 14,998 bottles of Codeine-Based Cough Syrups (CBCS), specifically the brand Phensedyl. The operation, which took place on November 13, is considered one of the most challenging anti-drug missions in terms of intercepting illicit trafficking activities.

On Saturday, NCB officials confirmed Mondal’s arrest, noting that the bottles were being trafficked to Bangladesh. The operation marks a significant step in the fight against the smuggling of controlled substances across international borders. Mondal is now in NCB custody as further investigation continues.
