Navjeet Barman & Semim Ahmed Arrested for Job Scam in Assam

Police have arrested two senior members of Divyang Manch Assam for allegedly running a job scam. The accused, Navjeet Barman (President) and Semim Ahmed (Secretary), were arrested late Sunday night in Boragaon after they were accused of promising government jobs in exchange for large sums of money.

According to the police, Barman and Ahmed lured job seekers by claiming they had connections that could secure Grade III and IV government positions in Assam. Victims paid them lakhs of rupees, hoping to land these jobs, but the accused failed to deliver on their promises.

The scam came to light when victims, after realizing they had been duped, demanded their money back. An audio recording, where one of the accused is heard demanding money, went viral on social media, leading to multiple complaints.

An FIR was filed at Paltan Bazar Police Station, prompting the investigation. Authorities are currently interrogating both suspects to uncover further details about their operations and identify any other accomplices. Preliminary investigations suggest that the money obtained through the scam was used to fund lavish vacations and purchase expensive vehicles.
