Nathanial Curtis Arrested for Attempted $30K Counterfeit Check Deposit

KENNETT SQUARE, PA — Nathanial Curtis, 30, has been arrested in connection with an attempt to deposit a counterfeit check worth $29,950 into his business account, authorities confirmed. On January 25, 2025, Curtis was transferred from the Philadelphia Police Department’s 25th District to Chester County Prison following an arrest warrant issued in October 2024.

The alleged incident occurred on December 27, 2023, when Curtis reportedly deposited the altered check into his business account via an ATM in Philadelphia. Investigators determined that the check was counterfeit, but Kennett Square Borough’s internal financial systems prevented any monetary loss.

Cellular records placed Curtis at the ATM at the time of the deposit, providing critical evidence for the investigation. As a result, an arrest warrant was issued on October 7, 2024, by District Court 15-3-04, leading to Curtis’ eventual arrest.

Curtis was officially charged and taken into custody after arrangements were made for his transfer to Chester County.

Authorities have emphasized that all allegations remain under investigation, and Curtis is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
