Nashik Resident Arrested for Defrauding Scientist of Rs5 Crore

A Nashik resident, Niranjan Suresh Kulkarni, has been arrested for allegedly defrauding Dr. Narasimha Reddy Damodar Rehi Apuri, a scientist from Chennai, of Rs5 crore. Kulkarni, 40, promised the scientist a position as a Governor, leveraging fake political connections.

According to the Central Crime Branch, Kulkarni convinced Dr. Apuri that he had strong ties with political leaders, leading him to demand Rs15 crore as a “service charge” for securing the position. Kulkarni, a resident of Gandharvanagari, Nashik Road, was arrested following the complaint. The police have remanded him to custody for ten days as investigations continue.

Kulkarni’s fraudulent activities have raised concerns, especially with his manipulative claims of influential political connections.
