In a continued crackdown on drug trafficking under Operation Dawn 2.0, Naharlagun Police arrested a 31-year-old woman drug peddler during a late-night raid in the Panchayat Colony, Damsite, Naharlagun. The operation was led by Inspector Krishnendu Dev and supported by several police personnel under the supervision of SDPO Naharlagun Rishi Longdo and SP Naharlagun Mihin Gambo.
Acting on credible intelligence, the police team raided the residence of Ms. Enime Kena Mihu, a permanent resident of Anini, Dibang Valley. During the search, they recovered the following:
25 vials containing suspected heroin (32.9g, including vials)
One plastic container with suspected heroin (30.7g, including the container)
42 empty vials
Two used syringes
Three empty cigarette packets
In total, 63.6 grams of suspected heroin was seized, along with other drug-related paraphernalia.
Upon interrogation, the accused admitted to sourcing the heroin from Assam for personal use and to peddle it. Following the raid, a case was registered under Naharlagun PS Case No. 36/25, under Sections 21(b), 27, and 29 of the NDPS Act. The accused was taken into custody for further investigation.
Authorities have emphasized their commitment to breaking the drug supply chain in the region. As part of the ongoing operation, the Naharlagun police are stepping up surveillance and encourage the public to report any suspicious activities to help curb the drug menace.
