Nabarangpur Constable Among 13 Arrested in Robbery Case Involving BJD Leader’s House

In a shocking turn of events, Sonu Jani, a constable from Koraput district, has been arrested in connection with a robbery case in Nabarangpur district. The robbery, which took place at the residence of Sunil Sahu, a trader and BJD leader, occurred on May 14 in Dangaerbhoja.

A total of 13 persons have been arrested in connection with the crime, which involved armed robbers breaking into Sahu’s house while a lady teacher was staying there as a tenant. The robbers stole gold ornaments and cash at gunpoint.

Police recovered a significant amount of gold and silver ornaments, along with weapons and three bikes from the accused. Among those arrested was a person who had been buying the stolen goods. However, two suspects remain absconding, and police are actively searching for them.

Speaking to the media, Nabarangpur SP Rohit Verma confirmed that a total of 13 individuals had been arrested in connection with the robbery, including the police constable. Items seized from the accused include gold and silver ornaments, two guns, and house-breaking tools.

The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are working to track down the remaining absconders involved in the brazen robbery.
