Mylapore Sales Representative Arrested for Embezzling Rs2.23 Lakh

In a case of embezzlement, the Mylapore police recently arrested G. Lakshmikanth, a 28-year-old sales representative at an automobile showroom located on Oliver Road. The arrest came after a complaint from the showroom’s general manager, who discovered a discrepancy of Rs2.23 lakh in the showroom’s accounts.

The fraud was uncovered when a routine audit revealed that Lakshmikanth had stolen the amount over an unspecified period. After the police launched an investigation, Rs3,000 was recovered from the accused. Lakshmikanth was arrested and later remanded in judicial custody.

This incident highlights the importance of regular checks and audits in businesses to prevent such fraudulent activities.
