by Ananya Mehta

The Bandra police from Mumbai have successfully cracked a cyber fraud case amounting to approximately Rs35 lakh, arresting five individuals in Bhadrak district. The suspects have been identified as Pramod Kumar (26), Rakesh Kumar (25), Subhendu (30), Jaydeep (alias Amar Kumar Parida), and Manoj Kumar (29).

The investigation began after two FIRs were filed months ago regarding the fraud, prompting Bandra police to launch a thorough probe. The suspects allegedly duped several victims, including an elderly man named Moses Vincent.

A team led by senior officers Poonam Yadav and Nitin Gachhe traveled to Bhadrak, where they collaborated with local police to track the mobile phones of the accused. Following this, a series of raids were conducted in Bhadrak town, leading to the apprehension of the criminals.

The arrested individuals are expected to be remanded to police custody and brought to Mumbai for further interrogation, as authorities aim to gather more information about the fraud network.

“This is a major crackdown, and a detailed investigation is ongoing,” stated a member of the probe team.
