On January 27, multiple suspects were arrested in Tangipahoa Parish following recent criminal activities. The arrests stemmed from two separate investigations involving a supermarket theft and car burglaries in the Bedico area.
According to the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office, 44-year-old Yleska Selders was sought after allegedly walking out of a Robert supermarket with dozens of bottles of laundry detergent and dog food, accompanied by an unidentified man. Around the same time, authorities were also investigating a series of car burglaries in the Bedico area.
While searching for Selders, Ponchatoula police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle suspected in the supermarket theft. Inside the vehicle were Selders, 29-year-old Joshua Cyprian, and 26-year-old Harisha Oliver. Police discovered drugs on Cyprian during the stop, and Oliver was confirmed as a suspect in the Bedico car burglaries.
Selders was booked on charges of shoplifting and an outstanding warrant from another agency. Oliver faced multiple charges including theft, illegal possession of stolen property, identity theft, monetary instrument abuse, and possession of marijuana. Cyprian was released with a summons for the drug-related offense.
Authorities are still searching for 31-year-old Tyquan Nicholson, who is wanted in connection to the car burglaries. Nicholson is facing charges of theft and illegal possession of stolen property.
