U.S. Marshals arrested 39-year-old Dennis Solares-Garcia, a previously deported MS-13 gang member, on the Las Vegas Strip Sunday morning. Solares-Garcia was wanted in connection with a robbery in Utah, where he allegedly stole an undisclosed amount of money while brandishing a firearm.
The U.S. Marshals Service Nevada Violent Offender Task Force, along with the Utah Violent Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team, tracked down Solares-Garcia after receiving intelligence that he was in Las Vegas. At approximately 11:30 a.m., Nevada U.S. Marshals located the fugitive on the 2800 block of Las Vegas Boulevard and took him into custody without incident.
Following his arrest, Solares-Garcia was booked into the Clark County Detention Center. U.S. Marshal Gary Schofield praised the collaborative effort of all agencies involved, emphasizing that Solares-Garcia’s removal from the community was crucial in preventing further harm.
“He can no longer pose a threat,” Schofield stated, highlighting the successful conclusion of this violent crime investigation.
