Mount Gilead Man Arrested for Pawning Stolen Jewelry in Aberdeen

ABERDEEN, N.C. — Anthony Patterson, a 33-year-old from Mount Gilead, was arrested on January 22 after being accused of pawning stolen jewelry in Aberdeen. The investigation began in early November when the Aberdeen Police Department and Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office were notified about stolen jewelry being pawned in the area.

A woman reported that her jewelry had been taken in Montgomery County, and officers discovered that Patterson had pawned at least one of the stolen pieces in exchange for money. Following this discovery, warrants were obtained for Patterson’s arrest on felony charges, including obtaining property by false pretenses and possession of stolen property.

After efforts to locate Patterson in Aberdeen and Montgomery County, the Moore County Sheriff’s Office apprehended him. He was booked into the Moore County Detention Center under a $2,000 secured bond.

The investigation is ongoing, and further details may emerge as the case develops.
