Moore County Woman Arrested for Assault on Elderly Man

Moore County Sheriff Ronnie Fields announced the arrest of Brandy Scarboro, 40, following an alleged assault on an elderly man in West End. On May 14, the Moore County Sheriff’s Office received a report of the assault at the victim’s residence. The man was hospitalized at Moore Regional Hospital to receive treatment for his injuries.

The following day, sheriff’s investigators arrested Scarboro, who now faces multiple charges, including felony assault by strangulation, assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, felony abuse and neglect of a disabled or elder person, and felony second-degree kidnapping.

Scarboro is being held at the Moore County Detention Center without bond, awaiting her district court appearance on May 30. The suspect remains presumed innocent until proven guilty.
