City police have successfully apprehended Mohammed Alikhan alias Irani Avani (32), a notorious chain snatcher, in connection with the recent theft at Pranav Jewellery near Mooru Marga.
Alikhan, a resident of Jannat Nagar, Dharwad, was arrested following an investigation into the theft. The police recovered 26 grams of gold worth Rs 1.78 lac from him. The accused has now been produced before the court for further proceedings.
