Mira Road Murder Two Arrested in Shooting of Shams Tarbez Shahabuddin

Two individuals were arrested in connection with the murder of Shams Tarbez Shahabuddin Ansari, also known as Sonu, who was shot and killed near a shopping complex in the Mira Road area of Maharashtra’s Thane district on Friday night.

According to Madan Ballal, Assistant Commissioner of Police (Crime) MBVV police, Yusuf Mansurali Alam, the prime suspect, had a long-standing feud with the victim. It is alleged that Alam orchestrated the murder with the help of Saifali Mansurali Khan, the shooter.

The incident occurred when Khan fired at Shahabuddin Ansari and fled toward Mira Road railway station. The police reviewed CCTV footage from the vicinity, which helped them identify Saifali Khan (22) as the shooter. He was subsequently apprehended on Saturday from the Nalla Sopara area.

Further investigation led to the arrest of Yusuf Alam, a trader from Badlapur. The police seized a pistol magazine and six bullets from the accused during the arrest.

The Naya Nagar police have registered a case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita and the Arms Act. Investigations are ongoing as the police continue to probe the motives behind the murder.
