Mickel Cherry’s Plea Hearing Rescheduled for Zoey Felix Case

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) – A status hearing for Mickel Cherry, the man accused in the tragic death of 5-year-old Zoey Felix, has been rescheduled. Initially set for Wednesday, Dec. 4, the hearing will now take place on Friday, Dec. 13, at 10 a.m. as a plea hearing.

Cherry is facing serious charges, including capital murder, first-degree murder, and rape, following the October 2023 death of Felix. According to police documents, Felix was found unresponsive on the evening of Oct. 2, 2023, near a gas station located at SE 29th and California in Topeka.
