Halton Regional Police have arrested Michael Mazza, 40, in connection with a human trafficking investigation that began in early January 2025. Mazza, who was taken into custody on January 27, faces multiple charges related to the exploitation of a woman over the course of ten months.
The investigation began when police received a report alleging that an adult female was being trafficked within the Burlington and Greater Toronto Area. The HRPS Human Trafficking Unit took the case and uncovered a pattern of physical and sexual assault, coercion, and control, with the suspect profiting financially from the victim’s exploitation in the sex trade.
Mazza has been charged with the following offenses:

Material Benefit from Trafficking in Persons
Material Benefit from Sex Services
Procuring
Assault (two counts)
Assault with a Weapon
Sexual Assault Causing Bodily Harm (Choking)
Uttering Threats to Cause Death
Uttering Forged Documents
Fraud Over $5,000
Theft of a Motor Vehicle
Currently held in custody, Mazza is awaiting a bail hearing in Milton. Police suspect that there may be other victims tied to the case and are encouraging anyone with information to come forward.
