Michael Lohan, the father of actress Lindsay Lohan, has been arrested on a felony assault charge after allegedly flipping his estranged wife, Kate Major, out of her chair. The incident occurred in Texas and has led to a charge of “continuous violence against the family.”
According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Lohan was taken into custody on Saturday. The alleged assault occurred several days prior when Major, undergoing a mammogram, told authorities that Lohan had caused her pain and discomfort by flipping her out of a chair. A female deputy reportedly observed bruises on Major’s body and subsequently spoke to Lohan, who was then arrested at his home.
Lohan’s bond has been set at $30,000, and he is scheduled to appear in court on Monday. The estranged couple has a history of domestic abuse allegations on both sides. Lohan and Major first met through Lohan’s daughter when Major worked as an entertainment reporter. They became engaged in 2010 and married in October 2014.
In 2015, their sons were removed from their home after video footage surfaced showing the couple in an “extreme argument” in front of their young children. Custody of the boys was awarded to Lohan’s mother. Major and Lohan have reportedly been estranged since she filed for divorce in 2018.
