Michael D. Browning Arrested for Shoplifting at Wal-Mart

A Tupelo man, Michael D. Browning, was arrested on New Year’s Eve on felony shoplifting charges after he was implicated in a theft at a Wal-Mart store.

According to the Tupelo Police Department, Browning, 27, was identified as the suspect after police were called to Wal-Mart on December 22 regarding a man who had left the store with multiple unpaid items. Store management had alerted authorities that the suspect had stolen merchandise.

Following a thorough investigation, the police developed Browning as a suspect, and he was arrested later on New Year’s Eve. He was charged with felony shoplifting in connection with the theft.

Tupelo Municipal Court Judge Weir set Browning’s bond at $5,000, and the case will be presented to the Lee County Grand Jury for further legal proceedings.
