A 46-year-old man, Michael Craig Wirth, was arrested in Pitt County after authorities executed a search warrant at his residence on Rodney Road. Wirth, a convicted felon, was the target of the investigation conducted by the Pitt County Sheriff’s Office Gang and Gun Crimes and Special Operations Units, alongside deputies from the Patrol Division.
During the search, detectives seized firearms and several narcotics from the property. As a result, Wirth was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of marijuana paraphernalia, possession with intent to sell or deliver marijuana, and possession of both a Schedule II and a Schedule III controlled substance.
Wirth was released on January 9 after posting a $75,000 secured bond.
