A North Charleston man, 18-year-old Michael Brown, was arrested Monday afternoon following a chaotic scene involving over 30 people and guns. Police said Brown fled from the scene of a fight in the Horizon Village subdivision, where officers had been responding to reports of an altercation.

Brown, who was spotted wearing a ski mask near Verde Avenue and McKeever Street, attempted to evade arrest when he noticed a patrol car. Upon seeing the officer, Brown ran toward McKeever Street, discarding a Glock-style handgun, which was later found with a device illegally converting it into a fully automatic firearm.

Police found Brown with 66 grams of marijuana, divided into three bags, and a scale used for narcotics distribution. Brown faces multiple charges, including the sale and delivery of a stolen firearm, possession of an illegal weapon, and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. He was booked into the Al Cannon Detention Center on a combined bond of $45,000.
