MIAMI, Fla. (CBS12) — Two Miami men are facing life sentences following their convictions for violent kidnappings that resulted in the deaths of two victims and the traumatic injury of another.
The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) announced on December 17 that 59-year-old James Edward Daniels and 69-year-old Frederick Eugene Rudolph were found guilty of conspiracy to commit kidnapping resulting in death. Daniels was also implicated in stealing jewelry from one of the murdered victims. According to court records, the defendants were involved in a conspiracy that exchanged drugs, money, or both for their participation.
A third defendant, 56-year-old Herbert Barr, pled guilty to kidnapping on November 26. His sentencing is scheduled for May 10, 2025.
Daniels and Rudolph face potential life sentences, up to $250,000 in criminal fines per count, and a lifetime of supervised release following their conviction.
