METROPOLIS, IL — Kyle B. Hurst, 38, of Metropolis, was arrested in December 2024 after being spotted walking in the downtown area by a sergeant from the Metropolis Police Department.

The sergeant, already aware of Hurst’s outstanding warrants issued by Massac County, recognized him near 5th Street close to Yasoda. These warrants were related to burglary and theft charges.

After confirming his identity, Hurst was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Massac County Detention Center to face the pending charges.

This arrest serves as an example of the local police department’s vigilance in addressing wanted individuals and ensuring that suspects face justice for their alleged crimes.
