Melbourne Lawyer Sarah Tricarico to Fight Justice Perversion Charges

MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA — High-profile gangland solicitor Sarah Tricarico, 38, has vowed to fight allegations of perverting the course of justice stemming from an incident six years ago.

The principal solicitor of Sarah Tricarico Lawyers was formally charged on Tuesday in the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court alongside her alleged co-accused, Youssef Samaan Raffoul, 33.

Charges & Legal Battle
Tricarico and Raffoul were arrested on March 13 and charged with perverting the course of justice and destruction of evidence. Prosecutors claim their alleged conduct is linked to information uncovered during Operation Ironside, a global sting led by the AFP and FBI that infiltrated organized crime networks.

Tricarico, previously representing jailed crime boss Tony Mokbel, was stripped of her legal practising certificate a day after her arrest.

Her defense lawyer, Dermot Dann KC, emphasized that Tricarico maintains her innocence and is eager for a swift resolution.

Court Proceedings & Bail Variations
Despite a prosecution request for an extension, the magistrate ordered police to submit all evidence by April 24. Tricarico was granted a bail variation, allowing her to travel internationally with her mother and son.

Both Tricarico and Raffoul are scheduled to appear in court again in early June.
