McCalla Man Arrested in Morgan County Drug Bust with Fentanyl

MORGAN COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) — A drug operation in Morgan County led to the arrest of John Lewis Patterson, 44, of McCalla, on multiple charges related to fentanyl trafficking.

On Tuesday, agents from the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office Drug Enforcement Unit pulled over a vehicle as part of an ongoing operation aimed at addressing the flow of fentanyl and other illegal narcotics. The traffic stop occurred near I-65 and Main Street in Hartselle.

During the stop, agents discovered a substantial amount of a substance that tested positive for fentanyl. As a result, Patterson was arrested and charged with dangerous drug trafficking (fentanyl), unlawful possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Patterson was taken to the Morgan County Jail, where he was given a bond of $301,300. This operation highlights local law enforcement’s continued efforts to combat the distribution of fentanyl and other illegal drugs in the community.
