Mazuki Takarada Arrested for Murder of Hiroharu Goto in Yokohama

YOKOHAMA, Japan — Police have arrested 22-year-old Mazuki Takarada in connection with the murder of 75-year-old Hiroharu Goto, whose body was found bound and dead in his Yokohama home last week. Takarada, a self-declared sole proprietor from Inzai, Chiba Prefecture, was taken into custody on Saturday.

During questioning, Takarada reportedly confessed to the crime, stating, “There’s no mistake.” His arrest marks the first breakthrough in the investigation into Goto’s death.

The authorities are also exploring potential links between the Yokohama murder and a robbery that took place in Chiba Prefecture last week. Takarada’s case has been transferred to prosecutors for further legal proceedings.
