by Sophia Bennett

JONES COUNTY, Ga. – A man from Georgia, Matthew Timothy Neet, is facing serious charges related to a ticket scam that targeted University of Georgia fans, according to local authorities.

Deputies in Jones County report that Neet allegedly advertised fake tickets online, luring victims from across the state into purchasing tickets that did not exist. The investigation revealed that Neet’s activities were part of a larger scheme that impacted more than 30 people statewide, resulting in estimated losses totaling $1.3 million.

Neet was arrested in Louisiana last week and has since been extradited to the Jones County Jail, where he is currently being held without bond. Authorities continue to investigate the full extent of Neet’s alleged fraudulent activities.
