A Hollidaysburg man is facing multiple felony charges after allegedly cashing five fraudulent skills machine tickets at a gas station, totaling $2,600.
Matthew James Cubberley, 38, was arrested and charged with:
10 felony counts of forgery
Five felony counts of accessing a device fraud
Misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance
Summary offenses of harassment and criminal mischief
Cubberley was unable to post his $150,000 bail and is currently incarcerated at Blair County Prison.
Incident Details
Police responded to a physical altercation at the Sunoco gas station on Allegheny Street in Hollidaysburg. The store employee confronted Cubberley about passing fake skills tickets. When stopped, Cubberley allegedly pushed the employee into a glass cooler, shattering the door, before fleeing in a white truck.
Officers stopped Cubberley’s vehicle on South Logan Boulevard and detained him. Upon searching him, a bag of suspected methamphetamine and a fraudulent $900 skills machine ticket were found in his possession.
Police later searched Cubberley’s hotel room at the Country Inn Hotel and discovered a computer and printer, suspected of being used to create the fake tickets.
Cubberley’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 11.
