A 19-year-old man, Marshall J. Hansen, was arrested after a series of armed robberies early Saturday morning in Portland, Oregon. The Portland Police Bureau (PPB) responded to multiple robbery calls between 4:36 a.m. and 5:24 a.m.

The first robbery occurred near 134th Avenue and Powell Boulevard, where a man sleeping in his car was robbed at gunpoint but unharmed. At 5:12 a.m., a pedestrian reported being robbed at gunpoint near Southeast 109th Avenue. Another robbery took place at 5:24 a.m. near Northeast Schuyler Street and Northeast 92nd Avenue, with the victim also uninjured.

Following the robberies, officers located the suspect’s car near Northeast 102nd Avenue and Northeast Halsey Street. Hansen attempted to flee, but police used a “pursuit intervention technique” to stop the vehicle. He then attempted to run on foot but was caught a block away and arrested.

A handgun was seized during the execution of a search warrant. Hansen was booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center, facing multiple charges, including three counts of first-degree robbery, three counts of second-degree robbery, and attempting to elude police by vehicle.

Portland Police have praised their quick response in apprehending the suspect and preventing further incidents. The investigation into the robberies is ongoing.
