Marshae L. Wolf Arrested for Felony Theft and Drug Possession

Sonora Police Department officials reported the arrest of 42-year-old Marshae L. Wolf from Columbia, CA, on January 26, 2025. Wolf was detained on Tuesday for felony theft, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, and an active misdemeanor warrant.

While handling an unrelated matter at the 1100 block of Sanguinetti Road, a Sonora PD officer was flagged down by loss prevention staff who reported a woman attempting to leave the store with a cart of unpaid items. The woman, later identified as Wolf, was stopped and detained. A records check revealed an outstanding arrest warrant, and during the subsequent search, the officer found suspected drug paraphernalia.

Wolf was arrested for shoplifting after attempting to steal over $600 worth of merchandise. Normally, this would be classified as a misdemeanor, but due to Wolf’s prior theft convictions, the charge was upgraded to a felony.

Wolf’s arrest comes after the passing of Proposition 36 in December 2024, which increases penalties for repeat offenders of specific theft and drug crimes, reversing some of the reductions made by Proposition 47 in 2014.

Wolf was booked into the County Jail without incident. It’s important to note that all charges are allegations, and she is presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
