ABERDEEN, NC — A 40-year-old man from Albermarle was arrested for allegedly stealing over $1,000 worth of electronics from Walmart in Aberdeen.
On December 29, Aberdeen Police responded to a reported theft at the Walmart store. According to Police Chief Brian Chavis, officers were called to the scene after asset protection identified the theft. Upon reviewing surveillance footage and speaking with witnesses, it was confirmed that Mark Weston entered the store, took over $1,000 worth of electronics, and left without attempting to pay for the items.
Warrants were issued for Weston’s arrest on charges of felony larceny and felony possession of stolen property.
Weston was apprehended in Stanly County on December 30. He was given a $5,000 secured bond by a magistrate.
