Mark Sullivan Arrested for Attempting to Cash Fraudulent Check

A 38-year-old man was arrested in Southbury, Connecticut, after attempting to cash a fraudulent check at a local Stop and Shop on Tuesday afternoon.

Police were called to the store at 100 Main Street North around 3 p.m. upon reports of suspicious activity. When confronted by authorities, Mark Sullivan fled on foot, initiating a brief pursuit through the parking lot. He was quickly apprehended by officers.

Sullivan now faces multiple charges, including third-degree larceny, second-degree identity theft, second- and third-degree forgery, resisting arrest, and possession of both a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.

After being processed, Sullivan was released on a $25,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on February 18, 2025.
