Mark Pegg Arrested After Fatal DUI Crash in Bay County, Florida

A Bay County man is facing multiple charges following a deadly crash earlier this year in Panama City.

On March 23rd, 32-year-old Mark Pegg was driving north on Highway 231 near County Road 390 when his vehicle struck the rear of a stationary Bay County Sheriff’s Office prisoner transport van, which had stopped at a red traffic light. Investigators found that Pegg made no attempt to brake before the impact.

The crash tragically resulted in the deaths of Kristen Clark and her unborn child. Additionally, a 5-year-old child was injured in the collision. Pegg, who sustained minor injuries, was transported to Bay Medical Center for treatment.

Pegg voluntarily provided a blood sample for toxicology testing, and the results confirmed that he was impaired by methamphetamine at the time of the crash.

As a result, Pegg has been charged with two counts of DUI manslaughter and child abuse. He is currently being held in the Bay County Jail with a $225,000 bond.
