Margaret Harris and Lynn Larkin Arrested in Wyoming Drug Bust

Two women, Margaret Harris, 43, and Lynn Amelia Larkin, 44, were arrested Thursday following a routine traffic stop that led to the discovery of multiple controlled substances.

The incident began when Wyoming Highway Patrol Sgt. Harley Kalb pulled over a dark-colored SUV traveling north on Highway 85 in Laramie County. The vehicle, driven by Larkin, had a non-functioning license plate light and no visible license plate. There were three occupants in the car, including Larkin and Harris, both not wearing seat belts.

While Larkin was searching for insurance information, the trooper noticed a metal pipe on the back seat, suspected to have been used for smoking fentanyl. The third passenger claimed ownership of the pipe. When Harris provided a false name and date of birth, she was asked to exit the vehicle. A subsequent pat-down of Harris revealed a straw with white residue and a brown container with suspected marijuana in her coat pocket.

As the trooper continued his search of Harris, Larkin was seen digging in her pocket despite being instructed to keep her hands on the steering wheel. Officers found a small blue straw believed to be used for snorting controlled substances. Further investigation revealed a small blue pill marked “M30,” suspected to be fentanyl, and a glass pipe with white crystal residue in Larkin’s possession.

A search of the vehicle yielded even more controlled substances. Items suspected to belong to Larkin included 30 grams of methamphetamine, marijuana (86 grams), fentanyl pills (8 pills), and a variety of pipes. Items found linked to Harris included 44 grams of marijuana and 13 grams of methamphetamine.

Both women have extensive criminal histories, with previous convictions for drug possession. Larkin’s record includes prior convictions in 2006, 2008, 2017, and 2020, while Harris has a history dating back to 2005, with the most recent charge in 2024.

Both were arrested and taken to the Laramie County Detention Center. During the booking process, Harris was caught attempting to smuggle a clear bag of suspected methamphetamine into the jail, which she handed to Larkin. Larkin was charged with interference for her role in the smuggling attempt.

Harris faces charges of methamphetamine possession, interference with a peace officer, bringing a controlled substance into a correctional facility, and being a passenger without a seatbelt. Larkin is charged with methamphetamine, fentanyl, and marijuana possession, as well as interference, and a third-or-subsequent offense of controlled substance possession, and driving without a seatbelt.

Both women remain in custody as their case progresses.
