Marciano Pina Ulloa Arrested in Statesville with Enough Fentanyl to Kill 1 Million

STATESVILLE, N.C. – Iredell County deputies arrested a man in the United States illegally and seized enough fentanyl to kill over one million people, authorities said Wednesday.

Investigators executed a search warrant at Marciano Pina Ulloa’s residence on Chapman Place Lane in Statesville, suspecting he was in possession of a large quantity of fentanyl.

Massive Fentanyl Seizure
During the search, deputies discovered:

2,117 grams (over 2 kilograms) of fentanyl
More than $1,000 in cash, believed to be proceeds from drug sales
Authorities emphasized the lethal potential of the seized drugs, noting that just 2 milligrams of fentanyl can be fatal. The amount confiscated had the capacity to kill approximately 1,088,550 people.

Sheriff’s Warning
Sheriff Darren Campbell highlighted the urgency of combating fentanyl trafficking:

“This is an incredibly dangerous drug that is killing people at an alarming rate across our nation. The amount of fentanyl seized in this case is enough to kill over a million people. We see it in our community, and we have to continue being aggressive in targeting those poisoning our citizens.”

Authorities are continuing their investigation into Ulloa’s drug operation, and additional charges may follow.
