SUITLAND, Md. — The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit has identified and charged 31-year-old Marc Carter of Temple Hills in connection with a double fatal shooting on Friday night. Carter is charged with the murders of 32-year-old Antonio Magruder of District Heights and 56-year-old Darrell Mason of Suitland.
On March 28, 2025, at approximately 10:30 p.m., officers responded to a shooting incident in the 4000 block of Silver Hill Road. They discovered Magruder inside a business suffering from gunshot wounds and pronounced him dead at the scene. Mason was found inside a vehicle with gunshot wounds and later died from his injuries at a nearby hospital. A third individual was also shot but his injuries are not life-threatening.
While the motive behind the shooting remains under investigation, the preliminary findings suggest that Carter was known to one of the victims.
Carter has been charged with two counts of first and second-degree murder, along with several other charges. He is currently being held without bond in the custody of the Department of Corrections.
