Mantej Singh Arrested with 2kg Heroin in Major Smuggling Bust

In a significant drug bust, Mantej Singh, 27, was arrested by the commissionerate police with more than 2kg of heroin in Ghanupur Kale village, Tarn Taran. Authorities also impounded Singh’s motorcycle during the operation.

The police revealed that Singh was in direct contact with smugglers from Pakistan and received drug shipments from across the border. Investigations showed that these shipments were being dropped in India using drones, further highlighting the sophistication of the smuggling network.

Singh, who already faces a murder charge in the Sarai Amanat Khan police station case, had been declared a proclaimed offender on January 3, 2024.

The police continue to probe the extent of the smuggling ring and its links to international trafficking operations.
