Manipur Police Arrest Myanmar National and Two Others, Seize Narcotics

On March 12, 2025, security forces in Manipur conducted a successful operation, arresting three individuals, including a Myanmar national, and seizing a significant quantity of narcotics.

The Myanmar national, identified as Hery (32), was arrested near New Shijang village, under the Moreh Police Station in Tengnoupal District. Hery was traveling on a bike from Haolenphai when he was intercepted by authorities.

During the arrest, the security forces seized 4.4 kg of WIY tablets, a mobile phone, a two-wheeler, and an individual MSF appointment card from Hery’s possession. The police are currently investigating the link between the seized narcotics and potential trafficking routes in the region.

This operation is part of the ongoing efforts to curb narcotics trafficking and ensure safety in the border areas of Manipur. Further investigations are underway to determine the involvement of other suspects and networks in the illegal trade.
