Manipur Man Arrested in Chennai for Selling Narcotic Drugs

In a significant drug-related arrest, a 25-year-old man from Manipur was apprehended by the Sastri Nagar police in Chennai on Sunday. Hamjamuwan was found in possession of 125 narcotic drug tablets.

The arrest came after a tip-off led the police to maintain surveillance near Elliots Beach in Besant Nagar. A police team, led by Thiruvanmiyur inspector Mohammad Buhari, intercepted Hamjamuwan as he was seen meeting with young individuals and exchanging packets. Upon inquiry, it was revealed that Hamjamuwan had ordered the drug tablets from online platforms and was distributing them within the city.

Following the seizure of the narcotics, Hamjamuwan was arrested and remanded to judicial custody after being presented before a magistrate court. The police are continuing their investigation into his network of drug distribution.
