Mangaluru Police, under the leadership of Inspector Baindoor, have made significant progress in cracking down on cybercrime with the arrest of three individuals involved in two major cases. The arrests took place at the Kavoor Police Station.
In one case, Nisar, a resident of Kerala, was apprehended for allegedly posing as a CBI officer. He extorted a sum of Rs 68 lakh from the victim under the pretense of a criminal investigation. Nisar reportedly used threats and manipulation to convince the victim to transfer the large sum.
In the second case, Sahil K.P. and Nashath R. were arrested for deceiving investors in a stock scam. The two accused tricked their victims into investing Rs 90 lakh in a fraudulent stock market scheme that promised high returns but led to significant financial losses.
The police team has emphasized the importance of public awareness and vigilance in the fight against online fraud. They have urged citizens to stay cautious and report any suspicious online activities to prevent further financial exploitation.
