The Mancheswar Police have arrested Susei Nayak, also known as Sushant, in connection with the brutal murder of Sahadev Nayak, an employee of the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) and a prominent social worker.
According to reports, Susei Nayak was reportedly on the run after carrying out the killing. He had abandoned his two-wheeler and attempted to flee the scene.
Earlier, seven individuals were arrested for their alleged involvement in the murder, including Rama Nayak, who surrendered at the Mancheswar Police Station on February 16. Rama’s surrender led to the identification and arrest of Susei Nayak.
Sahadev Nayak, who hailed from the Kedarpalli slum under the jurisdiction of the Capital Police Station, was returning home after dropping off his daughter at school in the VSS Nagar area. As he was on his way, miscreants attacked him with sharp weapons, killing him on the spot.
