Man in Wheelchair Arrested for Stealing Thousands from Palm City Walgreens

PALM CITY, FL — A 39-year-old man, who uses a wheelchair and has no legs, was arrested for stealing thousands of dollars worth of items from a Walgreens in Palm City.

Blake Kahn, who drove up from Broward County, was caught after stealing several expensive products from the store. According to Martin County Sheriff William Snyder, Kahn was seen placing items like blood pressure monitors, Rogaine, and eye drops around him in the wheelchair, attempting to conceal them.

Kahn’s accomplices, who had been waiting for him outside, then helped him load the stolen goods into a getaway car. However, things took a turn when Kahn left his wheelchair behind after leaving the store.

Deputies quickly apprehended Kahn and the two accomplices, finding the stolen merchandise worth thousands of dollars in their possession. Kahn, who has a history of drug-related and theft charges, told deputies that in Broward County, his crime would have likely only resulted in a trespass warning.

Now facing a felony charge, Kahn will have to answer for the theft in Palm City. The two other suspects in the getaway car also face charges and, like Kahn, have criminal records.
