Man Charged Over £15,000 Handbag Thefts in Wimbledon & Cobham

Joshua Grant McKenzie, a 22-year-old man from Feltham, has been charged in connection with the theft of high-value handbags from shops in Wimbledon and Cobham. The thefts, which reportedly occurred less than 24 hours apart, are believed to have amounted to £15,000 in total value.

McKenzie was arrested on Saturday, January 25, and charged the following day. He faced charges for the theft of handbags from a Wimbledon store on Tuesday, January 14, as well as from a store in Oakdene Parade, Cobham, the day before, on Monday, January 13. Both stores are owned by the same business, and Surrey Police have been working in close collaboration with the Metropolitan Police on the investigation.

McKenzie appeared at Ealing Magistrates’ Court on Monday, January 27, to face the charges. Police continue to investigate, and store owners have been kept updated on the developments.
