Man Arrested in Thane with MD Drug Powder Worth Rs 11.22 Lakh

In a major drug bust in Thane, Maharashtra, a 39-year-old man has been arrested for possessing MD drug powder, valued at Rs 11.22 lakh. The arrest took place on Monday evening in the Bhiwandi area, following a tip-off to the police. Ahmad Shakil Ahmed Mallik, also known as Sonu, was apprehended by the crime unit team near a lodge in Kanheri.

Upon searching Mallik’s belongings, police discovered 110 grams of the banned MD drug powder. During questioning, the accused revealed that he had obtained the drugs from a local resident named Ravish, who is now being sought by the authorities.

A case has been registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, and efforts are underway to locate the individual Mallik named as the supplier. Police are continuing their investigation into the drug trafficking network.
